God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He exists eternally in three personages: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. There is one God revealed to us in three distinct persons.

(Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; Genesis 3:22; Psalm 90:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2; Isaiah 44:24)

GOD

Jesus is fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to fulfill God's will and to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven’s glory and will return again someday to call us home.

(Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:22-23; John 1:1-5; John 14:10-30; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 1:3-4; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Timothy 6:14-15; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

JESUS CHRIST

The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation and provides Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. We seek to live under His control daily.

(2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13-14; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 5:18; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

HOLY SPIRIT

Salvation from sin is only possible because of God’s grace through the sacrifice of Jesus. It is a gift from God to all people who trust in Jesus. We can never make up for our sins by self-improvement or good works. One receives salvation by placing their faith in Jesus Christ, repenting of their sin, and confessing Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Then out of obedience to Christ, being baptized and living a life under His Lordship.

(Matthew 10:32,33; John 3:16; John 14:6; Acts 2:38; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:21-22; Romans 5:1-2; Romans 6:4-5; Romans 6:23; Acts 20:28; Galatians 3:26-27; Ephesians 1:12; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Hebrews 4:2; Hebrews 11:6; 1 Peter 3:21)

BIBLE

SALVATION

The Bible is God’s inerrant Word to all people, written by human authors under the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is accurate and without error and is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.

(2 Timothy 1:13; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 12:6; Psalm 119:105, Psalm 105:160; Proverbs 30:5; Hebrews 4:12)

People are made in the image of God to be like him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although people have tremendous potential for good, they are marred by disobedience toward God called sin. This sin separates people from God.

(Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2)

PEOPLE

Eternity is how long we were created to exist with God. We will either exist eternally separated from God by our sin or in union with God through the salvation He freely offers. To be eternally separated from God is hell. Heaven and hell are literal places of eternal existence and are the only two options for eternity.

(John 3:16; Romans 6:23; 1John 2:25, 1 John 5:11-13; Revelation 20:15; Matthew 18:8)

ETERNITY

The Church is the body of Christ on earth. It exists to communicate the good news of new life in Jesus Christ to the world, to teach his followers to obey his teachings, and to equip his followers for ministry. The church is made up of those who have placed their faith in Christ.

The marks of a true church are the proclamation of the whole revelation of God in Scripture, the biblical administration of communion & water baptism, the exercise of biblical church leadership, the edifying use of the spiritual gifts given to the members of the body, and a manifestation of unity and love among the members.

(Matthew 28:19-20; John 10:10; Acts 2:42-47; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 4:11-1; Romans 12:4-6; 1 Corinthians 12:27; 1 Peter 5:1-4, )

THE CHURCH

Baptism is an act of obedience to Christ’s directive to be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Water baptism by immersion symbolizes the death and burial of our sinful life and being raised into a new life in Christ.

(Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 2:38; 8:12-13; 8:34-39; 10:44-48; I Peter 3:20-23)

Communion is to be received as often as believers come together to remember Christ’s sacrificial death, burial and resurrection. The bread represents Christ’s body and the drink represents Christ’s blood, given for the forgiveness of sins for those who trust in Jesus.

(Matthew 26:26-30; Mark 13:22-26; Luke 22:14-21; I Corinthians 11:23-26)

MARRIAGE

ORDINANCES

Marriage is truly a beautiful ceremony given to us by God in the very beginning. Genesis 2:24 says, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh". At Kimberly Christian Church we believe and hold strongly to the Biblical view of marriage that takes place between one man and one woman. God has set a standard in His word regarding marriage, and as a church that strives to live Biblically, we want to honor that standard. Contact KCC to get more info about our Marriage Policy.
